Following a training conducted by Romans International (RI) in Paris with the national agency of SC in 2017, we were able to meet various partners related to the mobility of people with disabilities. This allowed us to start implementing mobility projects with these actors. More specifically, Views International has specialized for years in the mobility of people with a visual disability. The association welcomes every year 3 EVS of 9 months in Liege, is part of an international network and presents very concrete skills on this field of mobility of people with this handicap. Romans International has a little experience with this audience but it seemed very important to us to go and train with this very competent association with whom we share the same values: “Favor, allow independence, autonomy of people with visual impairments “.
Fabrice & Nicolas
During these 10 days of integration within Views International, as head of RI’s mobility division and in the perspective of creating a mobility handicap pole, I was able to identify the priority needs for sending and receiving of this target audience. I was able to meet local actors related to the reception project in Liège, mobility professionals for the blind, to share life on a daily basis and the missions of one of the blind SVE. I worked with all the volunteers of the association (mobility tutor, daily life tutor, city discovery tutor, FLE tutor, …).
RI currently has all the elements that can be used to send and receive EVS in the short and long term. It remains to structure this work, to formalize it, to plan it to bring to life this specific project with skills and in the long term. We already have concrete prospects for collaboration with Views International.
We wanted to thank the entire team of Views International for the quality of this Job Shadowing, their professionalism and skills.
