On Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th February, VIEWS will host our first “Dinner in the Dark” events of 2019.

These events are an opportunity for the public to experience a taste of life as a blind person, as they try to negotiate their knives and forks to eat a three-course meal in total darkness.

It’s an uncommon and interesting experience for the participants who are challenged to eat and drink without vision and be served by blind and partially sighted people. It is an opportunity for fun and laughter, but also for our participants to get an insight into what it might be like to live with a visual impairment and to learn a bit about the work of VIEWS International.

As ever these two evenings proved very popular and were very successful. We must thank all the volunteers who helped make both evenings happen, including everyone who helped with preparations and in the kitchen, and the blind volunteers who served behind the bar or at the tables each evening.

We also thank IRHOV, the school for visually impaired and hearing-impaired children in Liege, for permitting us to host the events at their school.
