VIEWS Italia is helping Atletica Castelfidardo (a sportive association to organize a youth exchange. They have just asked for funding for the 1st may deadline. The multilateral youth exchange called “sport-ability for a better tomorrow” took place in Loreto (Italy) from 9th to 17th September 2013; it involves 4 promoters (Italy, Hungary, Slovenia and Estonia. 8 participants from each Country took part in this youth exchange (4 without disability, 2 with visual impairment, 1 wheel-chair user and 1 participant with reduced mobility).

A group leader with disability and a co-leader arrived with the groups, together with a personal assistant aimed to facilitate the participation of the wheel-chair participant. The exchange fosters the mutual understanding, solidarity and promotes rights of people with disability to have a better life quality, being included in the society.

Through workshops, discussions, role plays and games, all participants have been encouraged to overcome barriers and obstacles they might face, to share activities together. The

Participants discovered together some sports which can be played also by visually impaired or wheel-chair users (torball, blind foot, baseball, wheel-chair basket etc). They talked about the youth in action programme, and worked in small groups to discuss about it and the facilitation of a sportive and healthy life style. With this project we hope to increase an healthy and positive approach to sport as healthy way of living and as a tool for inclusion of people with disabilities. We hope to increase a positive understanding of people with disabilities in the local communitie.
